Looking for 10" pipe
I'm looking for 10" sch 40 pipe about a foot in length to make a body/frame for a forge. I've been quoted anywhere from $75 to $125. Does this seem like a reasonable price? I was hoping to get by with spending a lot less than that. Any cheaper sources? Any alternate material suggestions? Thanks, Tom |

pipe
Go to your local scrapyard. You'll find all sorts of pipe sections and will pay about $0.10/lb for it. Don |

Old propane bottles
If all your needing is a shell for a forge you can pick up an old propane bottle at most suppliers for nothing. Does help if you by your propane from them but they'll usually give them to you without a problem. Real easy to work with, if you've got a saber saw that you can put a metal cutting blade or just drill a hole and use a hack saw blade. Ray |
