Temper line question

I have been making knives from various steel for about 20 years I like and mostly use 52100 . Generally without problem but the last one I made Has a beautiful temper line on the right side and NONE on the left side same steel same treatment as in the past. Could some of yall help out a little. I use a torch to harden quench then an oven to temper Ive done this for more than 10 tears without problem. Hobby maker no power hammer just like making knives
