SS Foil

Hi guys ! one question:
It is necessary to use wrap foil when using electric furnace
to avoid scale in steels type CMPS30V or D2 ?
or this procedure is only for gas furnace ?
Thank !

Aahh we have a newbie ! Steels oxidize [scale] and decarburize rapidly at the temperatures typical for HT stainless steels like S30V .Unless you want to spend considerable time grinding down to clean metal ,use foil. For electric or gas furnaces. To quench you should look into "plate quench" .Do a search for numerous comments about this.
