Forged Arrow Points
Well its not exactly a knife post, but they're about sharp steel so . . . two bodkin points, medieval style for penetration, and two broadheads for massive tissue damage. W1, hardened and tempered to a dark brown on the broadheads and blue on the bodkins. Broadheads are very sharp. Will shave hair (barely, not very good without my lansky)

Nice Eli, lots of fun forging the sockets on pieces that size. I made a batch up for a fella that's heavy into Med. stuff. He had some original(?) english bodkins that had 3" points that he wanted copied. Said the longer ones penetrated leather shields and body armour better.....hope no one has to find out!
Made mine out of rebar for his set, but found that bed rail angle is easier for the broadhead peices. Once you figure the pattern around the angle they are real quick and easy to forge out. Most of the bed rail I've used works best when HT'd like 1070 and gets glass hard on the quench so has to be tempered same as a knife. He's killed several hogs with the bedrail tips, no problems. __________________ Carl Rechsteiner, Bladesmith Georgia Custom Knifemakers Guild, Charter Member Knifemakers Guild, voting member Registered Master Artist - GA Council for the Arts C Rex Custom Knives Blade Show Table 6-H |
