Safety Reminder

With occupations/hobbies like ours we often see safety notices and think "I know, I know, always be safe". But then we go and do unsafe things. "I'm just grinding a burr off real quick, I won't fetch my glasses" or "I'm only drilling one hole real quick, no point in clamping the piece".

Bad things can happen and they can happen fast. One of our workers is currently at the hospital having his fingers worked on. He didn't pay enough attention to where he put his hands. A split second later a segment of one finger looks like hamburger and 2 may be broken.

Stay safe guys and always be aware of what you are doing.

I used to work in a health clinic and you wouldn't believe the histories on accidents that started out "I was in a hurry and...". You only have to be wrong once.

Great topic Aube. Just this weekend i was grinding(outside in the cold) with my 4.5" and i always where those faces shields but it was fogging up and i took it off. Then i started to get hit in the face with little pieces and remembered a video where a guy was hit on his face when a big chunk flew at him. That's when i put my shield back on. I'm more safe at work than i am when i'm home sometimes.

I work in a body shop and see (and do) that all the time. I'm pretty strict with my own safety but I do catch myself doing stupid things that usually lead to me getting something taken out of my eye.
