Model 14 Solingen "KIT" Blade

Former blank Solingen Stainless blade that was sent to James Behring Jr. for a 6" piece of Oosic to be installed, along with a stainless steel hilt, spacers and butt cap. This became a true work or art!

Roger Mudbone hand carved sheath.

Looks great. Did they do anything to polish or finish the blade? Does the blade have the Randall Solingen etched logo?... I would guess not because I think that was put on after the blade was re-ground and polished.

I once wanted to use a 1918 trench knife handle on one of these. That is a massive looking handle. Love it.

Blank Blades

Yes, they polished the blade of any preservatives or blemishes that were originally on the blank blade. It has "stainless" hot stamped on the reverse side of the blade, but no Randall etching.

I can't get enough of these "humpback" knives in the collection!

Here is a photo shot at the Randall Museum with a couple stacks of blank Solingen blades! Check out the exposed tang 15 on top!

A few more blanks

Excuse the blurry pic. Looks like I have Parkinson's while photographing! A few more Model 14 blanks beside some original green and black micarta scales!

I will attempt to get some nicer pics when I go back to the shop this coming Monday!
