hand sanding blades
I came up with a new trick to help in this dreaded job.Use one of the plastic squeeges that you use to put tint film on windows. It works great. Now I can watch TV and sand blades with more control. |

The red rubber kind, about 1 1/2" x 2 1/2"? I use those to wet sand cars before painting. So while not a knifemaker, I know all about sanding. Now aren't you glad you don't have to sand an entire car down to bare metal and down to 2000 |

I use a little rubber finger to hand sand. Its a hard rubber rectangle that is slightly rounded on one side to match the contour of my grinding wheel. That leaves one side flat and the faces blend handles down.I use that little rubber finger almost as much as I do my grinder. I'm just glad I don't have to remove as much metal with it.I also have shaped blocks of micarta, cork, and leather I use occasionally too. |
