Heat Treating Salts
Greetings,
In case no one has answered you yet, you can get your salts from Park Metallurgical (heatbath.com). Below is a link to their web pages. I have purchased quenching oil from their Massachusetts location, and they were very helpful. Hope this helps. -Chris http://www.heatbath.com/Products-link-page.htm |

They will sell oil to some folks in 5 gallon buckets, there will be a minum order that will necessitate around 4 or 5 buckets, but they only sell the salts in 400 lb. drums and are quite skiddish about selling them to anybody that cannot meet the challenge of the materials handling. If you find a salesperson who will ship you a drum of salts in Ma. (Detroit will turn you away) please share the info, since that would be the guy all the knifemakers have been looking for.
Here is a tip- if you are going to try to order from them, know exactly what you want before you call and never represent yourself as an individual instead of a serious business. |
