Bending Titanuim

Anyone have any tips on bending Ti. I have some 6AL4V .050 about 1" wide that I need to place a sharp 90 degree bend in. I have made several attempts and it keeps splitting.

Thanks
Bill

Bill: As you have discovered, Titanium doesn't like to be bent sharply. I'd suggest rounding off the corner of your vise jaw to as large a radius as you can stand-about a 1/4" radius should work. Also, you can heat the titanium red hot with a torch as you bend it.
