If you drill your "pin" holes before you get the handle area hot, it will make them much easier to drill. Dont forget to lightly countersink your holes. If you countersink the handles (the hole facing the metal, It will prevent the pins from moving when you do your "glue up". The temp that the blade will be heat treated at far exceeds the temp that the angle griunder will generate. Its a waste of time and effort to quench it and may set up stresses in the steel.
