I like this, let's keep the pics non-revealing so that we can have a little more room to work with the post. I think that if we can't see the finished knife then it's ok if we'll know who it's coming from. It might be easier for us to be able to contact the person we're sending to anyways, I remember it looking pretty time consuming to arrange the shippingo n thenewbie kith, it might be a lot of work for one guy handling all of the arrangements.

Either way, I'm ok with whatever everyone else wants to do.

Nothing going to be perfect. With the teaser photos my vote is just handle it with normal mailings since no one will have more than a guess at what it looks like. I'm probably not going to be much into the theme idea though I like the reindeer bone idea if you are prepared for "Daddy did he use Rudolph?"

Count me in!

Of course, after spendign a night down on Time Square and seeing a hooker (really hot..but a hooker none the less) dressed in red velvet and white fur trim last Fall...I might have a warped idea of Christmas theme!

I think I will start mine this week. I have a good idea how to tie into the theme...

Are we posting teaser pics?

Ok this is going to get complicated, but what if we could get one of the moderators to vol. just to post photos. We have a thread just for photos. We e-mail the photos to the chosen one and all are posted under his user ID that way you can see the knives and not know who's making it.Then when the time comes make the list and mail as usual.

This is your knife...

Here is the first (and only) full length picture of your knife, whoever you are. I won't tell you which one is yours though

These actually got cut out the day after I joined the thread, but due to my torch mishap my forge was out of commission for annealing , until tonight that is.

looks like acrid has started with the teasing, ha this should be fun.
i think ranger has a good plan, i would be happy topostfinished knife photo's for everyone or maybe we could set up another membership identity called christmas photo's or something like that and share the log in details in this thread and that way when someone wants to post a photo they just need to log in under that name and post. solong as we dont thinkthat would piss of thoe powers that be.
whadda ya think.

I think the easiest thing to do will be to just tease everyone and handle the sending like a normal KITH, this way we still don't know what we're getting until it shows up.

Andy, where did you get the elf?? Can't find them around here, must be to arid or something! Do you think the sleigh runners are spring steel?? I think that he starts making personal appearances with his reindeer and elfs around November, maybe I can pick up supplies then.

You think it is still in the spirit if your sheath is made from an old, jolly elf?

I'm about 30 miles from the city of North Pole, I can try to catch you an elf if you want one Carl........

I'm trying to decide if a candy cane is durable enough for bolsters or not.....

Do you think a red and green theme would work. I figure rust is sort of red colour and corroded copper is green. Think that would work?

I think that would be cool if you can make it go Steve. I've spent so much time trying to figure out how to keep my steel from rusting that I never gave much thought to doing it on purpose! Do you think it could be stabilized after it reaches the oxidation you want? I'm planning on using some red ang green, but I never thought to use natural colors from metal.
