Three Books on Heat Treating

Ed,
These books are not aimed at bladesmiths but at metallurgists. Natuarally, the information can be applied to bladesmithing but it also goes far beyond that. If you are interested in the hard science behind what goes on when steel is heated and quenched these books can help. There are several quenching methods described that I had never seen anyone apply to knives, probably because they are beyond what most would be willing to do or build the equipment to do, but interesting nonetheless ... |
