Scale Inlay's
have had a couple of itches to scratch on Ideas for some of my folders. I have wanted to do some unusual inlays with an epoxy fill and also some intricate puzzle pieces.
first folder I carved the Oregon State University Beaver logo onto some Orange G10 and then, back filled with some tinted epoxy. didn't turn out too bad but I will need to find something else the tint the epoxy with other than the aniline die I had on hand. the black seemed to want to bleed a little till i sealed it with thin cynalacrilate glue. it turned out as a good first attempt but needs some work. next is and idea I have wanted to try with a key hole inlay and a large pivot pin in the center. took a lot of hand fitting even after cutting out the pieces on my cnc. it too has a lot of potential in the future. booth folders are 6" long 410 SS liners O1 back spring Erik |

That's cool. Did you cut the holes for the inlays with your cnc?

Chris, I cut the male and female key with the cnc and then did the final fitting by hand. I did drill a 3/32 hole in the middle of the male key to center both scale in relation to the pivot point.
I guess you get to claim you in part helped me make is folder because it was YOU that helped me make my first folder 5 years ago with your folder dvd! Thank you! Erik |

I'm glad to hear that the DVD was helpful. Thanks for the explanation.
