Unusual Ironwork Site--VERY COOL

A little on the morbid side, but quite creative...take the photo tour (click on "View The Exhibit"), and tell me if Photos # 6 & 7 aren't fitting blacksmith's monuments. Look closely at the ends of the arms of the crosses.

Dana, I don't think it is morbid, death is a big part of life.

In Bronson Ks. there is a head stone carved of granite on top is a large anvil and hammer also carved of granite.

This makes me want to do one of the Francis Whitaker one piece crosses. Hope I won't need it too soon.

Next time I get up that way I'll get a pic. Yeah I like the smithin' Cross. Old cemeteries have a lot of neat epitahs on the stones something we don't do anymore mine will have one when I can figure out what I want.

ironwork site

Cool site Dana. Also great site you have here. I'm sure we'll be talking more. As i think i said before I'm more of a leather worker & haven't done much forge work in the last few years. But i've gotten alot of inspiration from lurking on your site & pulled my swage blocks & anvil out of storage. Now must build a new forge. I have some friends in Mt. Airy so i may stop in to see you some time. Thanks for the hospitality.

Friends in Mt. Airy, you say? Who might they be? Perhaps I know them. Man, if I did, then it would be a small world indeed, wouldn't it? And, if you get up this way, do stop by and say howdy.

Mt. Airy friends

Their names are Dick & Debbie Arnold have only been there for 3 or 4 years. They moved to Mt. Airy from Bowling Green, KY a couple years before we moved from Bowling Green.
