Sheath question

Chuck or Sandy

In Chucks DVD what did you spray inside the sheath to seal? By the way great video. I highly recommend it for anyone wanting to make leathe sheaths. It would have saved me years off the learning curve.

Thanks

Bing, there are several different sealers that are adequate. I prefer to wipe on an acrylic sealer to the interior of the sheath after it has been dyed and prior to assembly. The shenes or sheens of Fiebing or The Leather Factory/Tandy are very good as sealers for both interior and exterior. ---Sandy---

Wade/ Sandy,
Thanks for the quick response. I have been using Satin sheen for my top coat but have never put anything inside other than gum tragth. It is impossible to reach inside to the blade area once assembled. When I saw Chuck with the spray bottle the light came on.
I've played that back several time and cannot hear what he said. I guess all those years working in mills without hearing protection are catching up.

Thanks
Bing

I use Fiebings Bag Kote - it sprasy easier than Tan Kote without clogging.
As Mr. Sandy said there's others as well such as the acrylics.

You can also just pour some in, swish it around and then dump it out - stand it opening side down so any ectra will drip out............
