Stag handle and save the option. Am I the only one that thinks the prettiest stag comes on the smaller knives?

Here's a pic of my #8 and a pic of it with a #3 that has the same specs and similar stag. Both are tool steel.

S/S
Brass single hilt
bird's eye maple
brass butt plate
black and brass spacers
black sheath

That would make a nice little Sunday Go-To-Meetin' knife.

That sounds too cool! Got any pictures of some bird's eye maple?

I've been away for a while, so count me in as a Late but steady.

My choice for this build is as follows:
S/S Blade
Thumb Notches
Brass Hilt (Not sure on shape of hilt)
Black and Brass Spacers
Stag Handle
Wrist Thong
Waxed Sheath

Does anyone have a Pic of a #8 with a Square / Flat top Hilt? I don't believe I've ever seen one before?

Let's Roll!

First of all:
Mike: The Model #8 in the catalog has a squared top single brass hilt, to my memory anyway.
After all of the suggestions, as well as some pics, we have some new ideas for this one. Let's get this thing "officially" started! Let's decide some things. First of all: These builds are taking up slots on my orderes, so they have to be worked in as I can get to them. If this knife was decided on right now, it would come out on my November order, which is going to be delivered in the middle of February! It will probably be later than that, as we have not yet started and that window is closing quickly.
So: Let's talk about and decide on either stainless or carbon, as well as thumb notches. I have definite views on this, but would like to hear from ya'll first. Let's get started. I'll check in after the weekend. Good luck. Best, Captain Chris Stanaback

P.S. Welcome to the new crew members!! CCS

Kind of a no brainer on this knife stainless is the only way to go. User or safe queen, stainless is what this knife needs. If it has the squared top hilt I don't think thumb nothces are needed, but if we go with some other hilt maybe. That Golden Burl maple handled 21 looks great.

Dittos to what Panhead said. SS is a must and a squaretop hilt eliminates a need for TNs and saves an option.
