Cap,

I ended up with your pics and then had a computer problem. Sorry for the delay, but here they are. Great Knives!

Best,

Ron

Thanks Ron,
Can anyone tell me what's unusual with "one" of these knives? No hints..Best, Captain Chris Stanaback

Keep guessing

Seuss and others,
Nope...That ain't it. The "Stanaback" Special is forged from 1/4" stock, just like all of the rest.....oh....and "slab sides"?...I have quite a few done this way....Keep guessing. Best for now, Captain Chris Stanaback

Not yet

Actually, Mike: There is some "odd" things about the Model #3-5", but that ain't what we are going for. The Model #3 is carbom steel: Thumb notches: Incredible stag!: Etched: "Captain Chris" and has the NHS ( no hone sheath ) "W" ( waxed ): and a compass installed. While the sheath is odd, and it is "really" odd that your's truly would use a carbon steel blade, that isn't the very unusual thing about one of these carry/users knives. Well: I guess it is unusual, but something else is "more" unusual.
Hint: You cannot order it! Everything described on the Model #3, while perhaps unusual and odd for the 'Ol Captain, is orderable from the shop. The item I am trying to have ya'll find is "not". And, "NO", it is not the fact that my "Stanaback" Special is only available through me. Even through "me" this unusual feature is not on the "list". Good luck, Captain Chris Stanaback

Do you sharpen the top of your mod 3 and the shop will not do that for you?

Good guess!.................BUT..................In this case, the Model #3 is "not" sharpened on the top bevel, which, by the way, "can" be ordered from the shop. Keep guessing. Best, The "Captain"

The #3's stag seems to be pretty fat at the end.

It looks like it might have been a crown end that didn't make the cut; but made one heck of a standard stag handle.

Capt.,
It's gotta be the Stag, something about it looks different. You probably supplied it.

What about that "Tie Down / Drain Hole" at the bottom of the Sheath? What's the story on that?

Quitters

Wow! I know I am not playing fair..."BUT"...What a bunch of quitters!! No: This is really hard, and nobody has hit on the right thing...and: "NO" It isn't anything to do with the stag, the "slab-sides" the drain hole in the waxed sheath. It has nothing to do with the Model #3-5", or it's sheath at all.
That's a really good hint. By process of elimination, ya'll just got a big boost! I'll check back in later. Is anyone else having trouble loading this page #2? It is running very slow and kicking me out about 2/3 of the time. Best for now, The "Captain"
