Cpt,

I too will vote for the 6 inch, #6 grind. Sorry about my counting, must of went too high on my fingers! I will then drop the dura aluminum butt cap!

6", and since I like 01, I'll go with the #6 grind as well.

gone

Ron,
Thanks: I didn't know I'd left. I am fixin' to get gone again, i.e. become scarce! The rut in Alabama runs from the 13th til the end of the month...After the show this weekend, I'll be heading back up. I will check in, via laptop. We will get this thing done. I was not going to start a new "build" until after hunting season, but it was so darned slow on the forum, I could just feel me Randall brothers (& sisters, Martha) Jones'n for a "building fix".
I think that, although we have a bunch of safe queen establishers on here, this Model #4 would be a great skinner. It probably will not get used...but a great one none the less. Best for now, Capt. Chris Stanaback

Cap,

I meant welcome back home and to an environment that allows you access to the forum more often. You never know: The winner may make a user out of this puppy

Best,

Ron

I am going with the #4 x 6" Carbon Steel with the #6 Grind & long Choil.
It will make a "Hell of a Skinner" & if I am lucky enough to get it it WILL get Used as designed.
As a side note & question, Capt. how many Options are used up with this blade selection?

When I win my knife, I will use it. Maybe only in the kitchen but by golly I'll cut something with it.

I'm in with the 6" #6 grind also. (wish it could be SS though).
Speaking of shows, Cap, isn't there one coming up in Lakeland soon? Is it a good show for Randalls? Anybody going?

It looks like the #6 grind is heavily favored, but I am going to have to swim upstream on this one. If I was going to order a Model 4 it would be:

4.5 SS blade
Stag
NS hilt
Thumb Notches
Aluminum butt cap

no counting involved

Well, folks: This one does not need any counting up to this point. I'll give it the day and then we will move on. I'm on my way out the door for the morning hunt...Bucks are starting to move! Later, Capt. Chris Stanaback
