Moose,
Thanks for the tally. "ALL" leather handles will have an exposed nut..no exceptions!! That problem is solved. As for the micarta handle: Let's see: Nickel-silver with no butt cap: No problem. Brass butt cap: No problem, but a bit odd to the "look" of the knife. If a heavy butt cap is desired, how about nickel silver. OR: All brass, matching the hilt and butt cap? Tell ya' what: Sounds like another "sound off" to me!
O.K., All of ya: A Model #1-7", Stainless Randall with a micarta handle. 10-4....Got it! Now please voice your opinion, giving good merit, for your choice of handle "shape" and butt cap (or not). How about 3 days? Seem like enough time? If not...Let me know. I am going to slot the leather Randall for January of next year. If we get a move on, we can get "both" in the same order. Advise: Best, Captain Chris Stanaback
P.S. What "color" micarta? CCS

Green micarta with a border patrol grip. The green goes great with both green and desert tan web gear. I still like nickle silver with no butt cap.

.... I think it needs a buttcap. IMO the extra expense of the NS buttcap is not necessary. After the NS tarnishes it will not match the aluminum spacers. The duraluminum buttcap does match the aluminum spacers. If a PERFECT match of hilt, spacers and buttcap is what you are after then all brass is the way to go. My vote is for NS hilt, black and aluminum spacers and duraluminum buttcap.

Green micarta; brass double guard and standard brass butt cap.

Brass with green: good.
Nickel silver or duraluminum with black: good.
Vice versa: not as good.

I vote black with NS hilt and no cap.

The leather with brass hilt and brass radiused cap and exposed nut is perfect.
