WHO WANT'S TO SELL 20 KNIVES?
Hey guys .. This came addressed to CKD five minutes ago: Looks like there's a multi-knife custom kitchen knife project order for any CKD maker that cares to look at the specifications. Very simple pattern, too! Flat ground, Micarta. Email me at administrator@customknifedirectory.com if you want the e-mail I recieved with the .pdf and .word attachments. Very clear illustrations, easy to bid. Act fast and beat the rest of the web! Go CKD! Alex __________________________________________________ _______ Hi: I am interested in getting a custom kitchen knife design made from ATS-34. All the details of the design are in the attached .pdf and MS Word documents (they are both the same), including materials and dimensions. A sheath is not needed. My son-in-law would want 10-20 knives like that for his friends, if he likes the first model made (and the price). The most important characteristics are edge holding, edge straightness, and smoothness of the blade. Cosmetics is not that important. < If you are interested in making this knife please contact me at your convenience. If you prefer to make only the blanks or only finish the knife from a blank made by someone else you want to recommend, that's fine too. Thanks, Zvi Zvi Shkedi shkedi@bose.com Tel. I have just spoken with the gentleman, it seems that he wants a very special rabi's knife for killing chickens. The design is simple enough but the grind will tax the skills of any knifemaker, blade 1 1/4" wide with a full width flat grind on an 0.40" thick blade resulting in a 2 degree bevel angle. I have done these before and recommend trying this grind to test your grinding skills. Thanks for the referral Alex, it may turn into an order. |

I have worked on two of those knives for a local killing rabbi. I didn't charge him, and I won't do it again. |

George, Did you mean 0.04"? I was doing the math in my head and it didn't seem quite right. If so, that would be one nasty grind indeed. Brett |

Sorry about that Brett it is indeed 0.040". Starting point is 1/16" stock. If you blink while grinding you burn the edge. |

Here is a scan of the last one that I made. ATS 34 blade 1 1/4" X 5" X 1/16" thick blade full taper grind edge to spine and mirror polished. |
