Taking the Photo Software plunge

Guys,
I am ready to purchase a photo software package. I want to insert multiple images just as I have seen on this site. Is Adobe Photo-Shop or CS4 Extended edition the package I need?
Thanks in advance for your input.

Brad, I may not be the correct person to answer this question, but I can tell you that you would only need Adobe Photoshop, not the extended version. I also believe that you can do about 90 percent of Photoshop work needed in Photoshop Elements for a lot less money. I am not positive about inserting multiple images in Elements as I use Photoshop, but (Jim) Sharp by Coop or Buddy Thomason would be the one's who have more knowledge on the subject matter.

Not sure what yah mean by this but if you just want to add a few pictures to the forum one at a time or a few different pictures to a thread then you just need a basic photo program. Photoshop is way more then you need for basic stuff like this.

If you are looking to edit your pictures and put one image (layer) over another image (layer) and then do some kewl looking graphics and maybe some sweet lettering or maybe even a lens flar. Then maybe you could get a cheap Photoshop but remember Photoshop can be a lot of crap you may never use for a little editing. I have never used Paint Shop but I know some people that like it for the little things they do and it comes with Windows. Just something to think about.

Hi Brad,

The top-of-the-line photo program is CS4, and it's filled with FAR more than I need, but it's still worth every penny to me for what I DO need.

That said, for the occasional user, Photoshop Elements will handle multiple insets at 1/6 the cost. Or less. Tell us your visions.

Coop

Agree that Photoshop Elements would be more than adequate. Go here to get more info and download a free trial version:

Have fun!

I bought Microsoft "Picture it" for $16 and it has all I need. It can do picture in a picture, text, color, brightness adjusting, contrast, scaling etc. I found it very easy to use and within two minutes I had most of it figured out.

Can you post a suitable example? That would be telling. (I'm not challenging, I am wanting to see how easily it is for a non-professional.)

Thanks.

Ease of use is something that I would like to know about. I would not want a program that would take hundreds of hours to learn how to use.
