10" Swedge Hunter

Hey guys just finished this one up. It is 10" long OAL with a 5.5" blade. The handle is made with stabilized redwood burl fronts and micarta behind. Pins and tube are brass.
This is the first time I have ever done a multi piece handle. I am very hapy with the seamless fit between the wood and micarta.

Any input is apprciated

Looks good. You probably don't want to hear this but I think you should take it out and do some chopping, shaving wood, let it get warm in the sun......stuff like that. See if the handle comes apart. I'm thinking any torque applied to that handle or strong vibrations like from chopping might cause that seam to let go. Not likely to fall off, but it might open up a little ....

Nice knife! The fit of the scales to the bolster is amazing.

That is a very clean fit. What did you use for glue? Ray may have a point - if you have the nerves to try it. Alternately you could try to make a mock-up of a piece of steel with a similar combination glued to it and whack the #$@ out of it. If it holds, you won't have to abuse your nice knife; if it doesn't you can still try it on the actual knife I guess - or hang it on the wall...

Ray, I would love to take this knife out and beat the tar outta it but it is an order and needs to be in it's new owners hands by the second week of june. I used a whack of super glue between the wood and the micarta and slow cure epoxy to hold tbe scales to the tang. I hope it should be fine. If not I will replace if necessary.
Again thanks guys for the kind words and advice.

A number 1 job!

How did you apply your mark? Was that with an electric etcher? Thanks
