Filing ricasso area

I really like this idea to use a file with one side of ground smooth like on the picture below to make a nice ricasso cut.

My question how do you grind a full hardened file? I am sure it'll eat a belt very fast.

Just dip it your water bucket often to prevent ruining the temper and you will be fine and yes its hard on belts but lots of folder makers as well as others that work stainless steels grind fully hardened blades
