No machines knife maker

I've found several posts while reading on different topics, about this nameless european knife maker that uses all hand tools except for a drill press. Does anyone know who this is, or know where there are pictures of his work? A website maybe? I'm very interested in finding out about this fella, but the posts never say anything more than "this european guy". Is he just a legend? lol...

Does anyone know of others that use mainly hand tools?

Seems like a lot of guys on the outpost forum here would fit that description. Tai Goo, for example. Tai and Tim Lively are on a video in the Woodsmaster series available from www.survival.com. I'd guess lots of folks do some knifemaking more with hand tools at least to start. I made a few that way myself; have only completed one knife since finishing my grinder. It's not really unusual.

There are many people who use only hand tools due to lack of money, lack of shop space, apartment dwellers, and people who would rather do things with their hands. i do have a drill press which is a life saver. all other processes can be accomplished with simple hand tools and time besides the actual heat treatment of the blade. take a look at this thread with my latest project.

Wolfgang Loerchner of Canada also makes his knives with files and a drill press. Exceptional workmanship. There is a link to his website at www.ckg.org
