Etching "Resist"

I tried the salt water electro-etch. Seems to work ok. However, can't seem to get anything I've read about to stay stuck, i.e. fingernail pollish, bee's wax, etc. Cleaned with acetone before applying.....

Any hints?

Thanks,

Dale

I use a 50-50 combo of beeswax and parafin and apply it with a hot clothes iron. Just need to apply a thin layer of wax. This is a method that I got from Wayne Goddard.

I buy etching stuff from Graphic Chemical and Ink. Acid, hard ground, soft ground, you name it! The prices are very good. A "ball" of soft ball ground is like a couple of bucks. Works great for all types of acid.

A "ball" is actually an ice cube shaped piece. Just melt and go!

I finally got the wax to work. Took a few more tries. I just ironed it a half dozen times rather than just once or twice and it stuck with no problems. Also, used a weaker salt solution and a few other changes so not sure what "fixed" it. Hopefully, can repeat the success. Now just need to work on scribing the wax better.

Thanks,

Dale
