Unhappy Grinding....

Well I got a Burr King to replace my ole 2x36 grinder attachment. I'm profiling and putting in the starting bevels with a used 36, start the grind with new 36 and clean that up with a new 60, put the plunge cut in with a 120, clean that up with a 180 and move on to 220 before HT. Does this sound right to y'all?

I ground 3 blades in less time than it took me to grind 1 and I've got a better looking blade. WOW power and good belts DO make a difference. I knew this, but just didn't realize how much of a difference. I also learned that power and good belts will turn an 4" hunter into a bird and trout real quick also (well so I've heard )

Will

grind

I prefer to finish with a 400 grit before ht, but it's up to you. If you don't mind doing the extra work after ht, then finish to 220 is fine.

I've made several bird and trouts due to similiar "circumstances".

You can go from 60 to 220. In fact, you can go from 60 to 400.

If you look up the old threads at Steve Johnson's forum, you will see how. If you can't find them, let me know, and I will post the links.
It really works well.
