1084 vs. 5160

I am sure it is a matter of opinion more than anything else, but I just finished forging a blade out of 1084 and it seemed much easier than the 5160. I had less hammer marks, the forged blade was smoother and the results were much better. Is the 1084 easier to work and shape than the 5160? And if so, why?

welcome to ckd, rhines.
.
not into forging myself (yet), but you might get more traffic on your question on ed caffrey's forum or in the outpost - all of those folks forge steel.
