8" Chef's Knife w/G10 and Burl

A lady customer who is a free-lance caterer wanted a lightweight, sharp and tough chef's knife. This is what I came up with.

It's a full-sized (8" blade) chef's knife made of Bohler-Uddeholm AEB-L razor blade steel in 0.130". A composite handle made of black G10 and stabilized Amboyna burl (Woodstabilizer.com) pinned in brass and gooped with Acraglas.

It weighs in a 253 grams (8.9oz.), which is a little heavier than the segment average weight , but I hope that she is happy with the end result. For something different, I shaped the handle components, piece-by-piece with a simple oval pattern and made things fit on each side. I posted how I did this on my blog. http://dcknives.com/

The fit and finish is acceptable for such an awesome learning experience.

As always, your comments and constructive criticism is appreciated.
Cheers!
Dan

I think that she should be happy with that. There's a good belly to the blade and the handle looks comfortable.
