0-1 Hardening Question

I finally ground a couple of blades im satisfied with. And have instructions from an old post on how to heat treat using basic equipment. My question is, if using a torch to heat the steel to non magnetic how long must you hold it at that temp before you quench in the oil?

On tool steels like O-1 you don't need to soak it in the heat. As soon as it is non-magnetic or just a little over it can be quenched. I'm not sure if you doing an edge quench but make sure the whole edge is non-magnetic and the same color. Not to hard on a smaller blade but much more difficult on a large one...Ray
