I made a kitchen knife and wanted a more natural handle, so I chose giraffe bone.

Made a year ago and used multiple times daily, it has worked well . I wouldnt put this blade in a dishwasher though.

Funny, cuz just plain ol' hickory will last you about five lifetimes. Funny, after 40 years of useing carbon steel, wood handled knives in the kitchen, to learn now that I might die now from the germs harbored in them. Funny that people want knives that take care of themselves. If you could make a self sharpening knife, people would want it to be self cleaning. If your knife rusts, you have no business owning a knife. If your handle material delaminates and warps, you should re-evaluate your respect for your posessions. If someone cares to buy the very best in cutlery, they should care enough to wash dry and put it away after use. Funny, all the ranting in the world will not teach someone respect.
Awww, heck with it. Just give em' what they want soul-less stainless and plastic. Maybe thats all they deserve. Cheer up Roc, it is Friday....heehee.

Purty stuff Kevin.

We were talking about the Corian and this is how it turned out. At least it hasn't broken yet.

Neat handle shape. Is the Corian stain resistant?

When corian first came out One of the selling points was if it did get a stain that you could not get out , say like a ciggarette burn you could sand it out. but yes it is stain resistant.
