Noobie question on handle finishing.
Probably the wrong forum to post this, but this is my first knife so here goes. I brought home a maple burl and cut some slabs for my knife, got them put on with brass pins, and sanded relatively close to finished shape. Question now is, how can I finish the wood to get a nice polished shine to it with a durable finish? Jim |

Jim, First of all, welcome. Second, I'm assuming that the burl is not stabilized. That being said, you can still finish to your desired grit, and then seal with either your choice of boiled linseed oil, or tung oil. It's more of a preference at that point. How much sheen are you looking to get? Chris |
