I had seen the aftermath of tornadoes back in Oklahoma, but I still wasn't prepared for the devastation and the amount of destruction I saw....looked like the place had been bombed into oblivion.The airport became our staging area, with a couple of large hangars the supply depot.
Food and medicine began arriving from England,the US,Canada and other countries.We only
hauled during the daylight hours as there were roving gangs that sought to make a profit off of
the supplies....I had two British soldiers with sub-machine guns assigned to my truck, and I was
dam glad to have them.......
