A Dose of Reality

Last week, my wife and I celebrated our 55th wedding anniversary.Being the romantic that I am,
I bought her a new crock-pot to make it easier for her to cook those great butter beans and stuff.
We celebrated in the usual way, she watched TV 'till midnight, and I finished a Louis Lamour novel.
I can[t believe that many years have gone by.At one point in the evening, I broke out the old
telecaster and tore off a little" Black Mountain Rag" Chet Atkins style.
I told her,"I still got it ain"t I babe"?....She took too long to answer, then said,"you gotta remember, dad, your hearing is not what it used to be....
Quote for the day:
You can't go through life with a catcher's mitt on both hands
you need to be able to throw something back....

55 years... congratulations. Hard to beat a good Louis L'Amour.

Thanks for the comeback, friend; appreciate you stopping by...in this age of Marvel
comic book heroes,(who are for the "grown-ups" ) I still enjoy the old westerns...
