Kydex Sheath Making Press : Check this out.

Look what Uncle Darrel designed for us.

I told him that we needed a bench model 12" kydex sheath press, something that would work for anyone, and here's what he came back with.

It's made from 1/4" steel plate, the top part comes off quickly, makes single-sided or wrap-around sheaths, has height adjustment, a lock-down system and is under $70 dollars, including foam and hardware.

Here's more, if you're interested.

Nice job Darrel!

Hey Alex, that one sure is nice! ...now I wish I had held out for the bigger one instead of getting the smaller one!

Do you gus have any plans to make flaring dies for the rivet press for 1/8" kydex rivets? Those are the perfect size rivet for neck knives and it sure would be nice to have a set of dies for the press that would do rivets that small...

Hi Darren,

We may offer some in the future. Most guys use the #6 for their smaller stuff, but I can see a need for some even smaller one day. If we do, I'll let you know.

I love that press, it's perfect for flaring rivets/eylets!

Alex

Hi Alex, cool, I'd certainly buy a pair if you guys ever had them made up for the the smaller rivets and I know a few others who would too. I fully concur, that flaring press is perfect, and was one of the best sheath making purchases I've made...I love it too!

Hi everyone, Im knew on the block... so please bare with me till I figure out some stuff, k? Thanks!
Im wondering IF and WHERE there will be a dedicated thermoplastic, kydex, forming section in here?
The reason I think this would be a good idea, obviously, everyone can share tips, tricks, and knowledge from screwing up and fixing it right. One thing for Kydex, its sooo forgiving, its perfect for the non patient, "i gotta make SOMETHING now" guy" who then proceeds to screw it up....... LOL ( i admit, thats me ;/ ) But I have to say, Im learning to be patient and its paying off. I finished a half dozen holsters of all different types, it is a STEEP learning curve, but you can see the light at the other end.
Also, anyone thinking of doing this should get the "Video kydex basics" by Darell and his apprentice. Its a good thing to watch, see and hear. It gives a bit of confidence that you can get 'er done! Best, Dave W
