Love the build! I am glad to see you care about safety and added the belt guard! Nasty place to get something caught in without the guard.

Was thinking the same thing. Looks good so far.

Charles, grinder is looking good, can I make one recommendation. Get rid of that compression spring for belt tension, you have no control over the amount of belt tension you'll have. An air cylinder with adj air pressure would be much better and you would have more control over the belt tension when you're working. Other than that I think it's going to be a great grinder for ya.

John, good to see you posting again.
Looks like he may have just a little tension "adjustment" if the top most bolt that the arm rests on threads up and down...just not a lot. Nothing like what you are describing. You coming to the Blade Show? If not I'll see you at the Guild Show in Louisville. __________________ Carl Rechsteiner, Bladesmith Georgia Custom Knifemakers Guild, Charter Member Knifemakers Guild, voting member Registered Master Artist - GA Council for the Arts C Rex Custom Knives Blade Show Table 6-H |

2x72 grinder build
John, that is a good idea. I will have to look in to that...
Carl, you are right. That is an adjustment there. The bolt is now welded to the top arm and the nut /assembly turns to allow more or less tension. Thank you for your suggestion/comments. Charles |
