The best way to seal bone or any other porous material is to have it professionally stabilized. I send my stuff to K&G in AZ for stabilizing ....

The best way is as Ray stated, send it out for professional stabilization. It seals the bone all the way through. If you want to go the do-it-yourself rout then a product like Zap A Gap will seal the surface of the bone. Boone Trading Company, www.boonetrading.com, also sells a product for sealing porous matieral like bone for scrimshaw. Just go to their site and look under scrimshaw supplies and look for Cutler's and Carver's Glue listed at the bottom of the page.
