D-guard bowie

Just wanted to share the photo Terrill took of my bowie. He did a wonderful job on the photo! The bowie is forged from 1084 with an edge quench, the fittings are nitre blued mild steel and nickel siver and the handle material is hippo ivory. Building this knife was the most fun that I have had building a knife in a long time even though I destroyed two D-guards building it. I was very fortunate with the knife as it won both Best Bowie and Best of Show at the PKA show last weekend.

Craig,

Wow

That is sooooo fine! No wonder that it won best bowie.

All of the materials that you chose really work together.

Congrats!

I played with this at the show. It's an awesome piece of work and definately deserved the 'Best of Show' title.
Craig, I think I'm going to have to break your hands so I have a chance next year.

Thanks for all the nice comments guys! Brett you don't have to worry I probably used up all of my creative energy on that bowie! Im just glad you didn't have that Mediterianen Dagger finished yet or I would have been in trouble!

First word that came to mind was "Exquisite!"
The ivory against the blue is wonderful choice...really emphasizes the lines of that great D-guard.

Well deserved the kudos at the show.
