Jack hybrid

just putting the finishing touches to this today.
ive been doing this blade in between the sgian that i already posted.

Jack, the gentleman who taught me the basics of knifemaking, has a completely different style fo making knives than i do and is always trying to convert me to the 'dark side'.

so, in answer, i made this as a kind of combination of our two styles of knifemaking.
the jack utility:

jack likes to make his blades worker friendly - so i added in some features that make for a really comfortable working knife.

i loved having this knife in half finished state sitting about the workshop, cause i always knew i had a comfortable and sharp knife just there waiting to be used.

it was forged from 5160,
hollow ground with convex edge and a satin finish on everything.
the fittings are nickel silver and the wood is an absolutely lovely piece of desert rosewood.
i couldnt get a pic to really bring out the colours and pattern of the grain.
~4 1/4" blade
~8 1/2" OAL

comments welcome.

Dion.

Very nice Dion!

The long narrow blade gives it a beautifully elegant look while still being very usable!

I was looking at you web site the other day and i was thinking about ordering some of your trinket, particularly the skull and knife.
I'll shoot you an e-mail soon!

Thanks

Robert

GDay Dion, nice piece for sure. That handle does look different but I can see the grain from your pics - it looks a lot like Kingwood which holds up pretty well for a user. The edge looks pretty thin and sharp too from what I can see. Jason.
