New Knife Design

Hi All,
Thought I'd share a brand new folder design of mine called the Fulcrum. This knife features a unique patent pending mechanism which levers the blade open and closed by pivoting the left scale about 15 degrees down and back up. I've attached a photo of one and have a short movie (1.4 meg) online at:

http://www.kaincustomknives.com/Fulcrumopen.avi

showing me opening one of the prototypes. Comments are always welcome.

Thanks for looking,
Charles

Charles,
That's awesome. Really innovative. I like it. The video show's how it works real well.

Great knife Charles! I love how you are always doing new and innovative things all the time with knives. Seems like every time I turn around you're telling me about a new opener or locking mechanism you have developed or are developing.

Thanks for letting us all see!

If that little opening mechanism doesent take the knife world by storm in the next year or so, I don't know what will.

That's so awesome. My mind is officially blown.

Welcome!

Hi Chuck, welcome into the Knife Network. Thanks for your post!

Yup, as was mentioned by Paul (circlepknives) you have a good engineering background that has helped you create unusual and distinct mechanisms. I hope this does you really well. I smell a factory collaboration sometime!

Thanks. Looking forward to seeing one in person in Sept. in Chicago!

Coop

The knife itself is a wonderful piece of work - the addition of the new opening mechanism may make this one a benchmark for the year

I'm with Coop...I will definitely be seeking out your table in Chicago!

That's one hell of an original, clever concept...and a sweet knife to boot!

Actually Jim if you go to the crkt? website they have a gif of Charles' sharpener, and another knife has Charles' Riplock on it. So he has already done a couple. But yes I can see a factory snatching up this very soon ;-)

Thanks to all of you for the positive feedback; if anyone has any questions regarding the design (like wanting to know how the "crazy little doodad works") feel free to give me a call - I'll be happy to talk to you. My contact info's posted on my website, or send me an email. Otherwise we'll just have to talk our fool heads off at Chicago!

Cool design Charles! When do I get to see it in person? I think Larry needs to have another cook out!
