Dempsey Knives

I have 3 knives made by David Dempsey- a D'Fighter 2, an Avenger, and a Midnight Rider, and they are my favorites for defensive carry.

I would like to get a few more of his knives, but I cannot seem to find any, and his old website is not up anymore.

Does anyone know what happened to him, or if he is still making knives ?

A couple of years ago David's wife decided she didn't like their living arrangements and the last I knew, he was living in an apartment with all his equipment in storage.

I'm sure there is more to the story than that but that is all I am qualified to tell. I have tried to call him numerous times but only get an answering machine and no return calls.

Hope that helps.

Carey

I'm sorry to hear that, but I can empathize with him as I just went through a divorce this year, lost my gun range, and had to put all my machine shop equipment in storage as well.

I just recently started getting interested in my hobbies again.

I hope David gets back to making knives in the future.

Thanks Carey. I just checked out your website- I like that Okmulgee. Might have to add one of those to my collection.

Currently Dave is back working at Boeing in Macon Georgia. I see him pretty much everyday and from time to time we get a chance to talk shop. From what I have gathered from talking to him it doesn't seem likely that he'll back to making knives anytime in the near future.

Thanks for the compliment kobun. I have one of those on the bench and should be finished soon. I hope to post some photos when I get finished with it.

James,

I live just down the road in WR. We'll have to figure out how to get together and have a cup of coffee.

Carey

That sounds like a plan to me Carey. I only live over in Byron so I'm really just right around the corner.
Checked out your website and you have some nice stuff on there.

Yeah, sometimes marriage can be a bad thing- esp. if you marry the wrong person for the wrong reasons.

I have me a nice, sweet 20 year old girlfriend right now. Good Christian girl- she is a real keeper. Big difference from my ex.

I checked out your website as well J. I am mostly into tactical stuff, but all I have to admit your blades are nice- wow. I like that Fokos. How much do they run approx.? And I will have to have one of those gold and damascus rings for my next wedding band!
