Knife kit Newb questions
After searching but to no avail, I thought I would ask here. I hope this is the appropriate place? My apologies if not.
I am ready for my first project, a kit I figure to get my feet wet. I read here at KN that knifekits.com has their kits identified by difficulty degree ratings but have not found that. How does one get more info on kits such as: Are the kits all inclusive? Do the blades need final or any finishing? Are there certain stages of the kits as it comes to you for example from just assemble to shape and final finish? Thanks for the help in advance, Tim |

Tim-
If you have some specific kits in mind post a couple of links and we can probably answer your questions more percisely. Also, if you call the suppy houses they'll tell you exactly what comes with each. In general terms.... If you order the "kit" and not just the blade it will come with all of the parts you need - scales, pins, etc. some may even come with epoxy. The difficultly rating sare generally for folders as fixed blades are all pretty much the same. Every kit knife I've ever done has had the final finish and the blade sharpened. Hope that helps! -dr __________________ www.ruhligknives.com "The choice isn't between success and failure; it's between choosing risk and striving for greatness, or risking nothing and being certain of mediocrity." - Keith Ferrazi |

Knifekits does a very good job of putting together a good product. I think you'll be pleased.
There are some things that you'll need to provide, like sandpaper. These kits are designed so that you are expected to do the fitting and finishing. How well the knife turns out depends on your efforts in taking your time to do it right. __________________ God bless Texas! Now let's secede!! |

knives Knife kit Newb questions
The knife kits of course do have good products. The blades are very nice, I don?t think that it needs any final touch or finishing.

Be careful which model that you choose. Some of our blades are ready to go out of the box and others require much more work to finish. If you have any questions about which is which, ask them here, or call us toll-free 877-255-6433
