Knife Maker Training! A new platform to learn Knifemaking/Bladesmithing

Exciting news! For years I have been keeping notes, in hopes of someday writing/producing a book about knifemaking. Not long ago that changed.....in Conjunction with Legacy Studio Productions, I am proud to announce the start of a new era..... KNIFEMAKERTRAINING.COM

We are just in the beginning stages, but the intent is to offer a full scope of knifemaker training videos, some free, some paid, and even some full length features that can either be downloaded, or purchased on DVD or USB stick. We will also be updating/reproducing my Basic Bladesmithing, Basic Damascus, and Mosaic Damascus Videos as time allows. I also intend to add more subject specific full length videos on specific Mosaic Damascus patterns as well as specific task oriented videos such as grinding, guards, handles, and every other aspect of knifemaking...... your input is always welcome for video ideas!

The idea is to encompass as much information as I can relay, on how to produce custom knives. There are a number of resources, including a new website, where videos can be viewed, downlaod, or purchased a Facebook Page, where all the latest info will be hosted, and a Facebook Group, which will allow others to join the group, post questions, and make requests for video subjects,........ and who knows what else! This will be an ever evolving platform, where I hope to leave a legacy of knifemaking knowledge!

Feel free to contact me with ideas for videos you'd like to see. You can do that via the forums, through the Facebook pages, or via email. I'm just gona be the monkey in front of the camera.....I'm leaving all the "business stuff" up to Legacy Studios! ... right where it should be!

My best wishes to you Mr. Caffrey and I hope you the best in your endeavour. You look much younger than I thought you would. I was thinking an old crusty curmudgeon and you look like a nice guy!

ED.....just took a quick look and it looks great...Some knife makers take on a apprentice as there legacy...you just found a way to teach WAY more than 1 apprentice. Awesome idea and I am sure things will work out very good. You seem very willing to take your time to teach. I kinda figured that out when you took a few mins to look and help with my folder work at the blade show. Oh and I did put the advice you gave me at the show into action and things could be slightly better but things have improved ALOT....by the way did you ever get the private message I sent you here?

I get that all the time! Everybody envisions this old, crusty "Mountain Man". Never have figured that one out, but it's kinda nice to surprise folks a bit!

For the longest time I had it in my mind that someday I would write a book about knifemaking, but Tim (Legacy Studios) talked some sense into me. Even I lay in bed an night and browse things, and read on my ipad. About the only time I read an actual "book", is the Bible... and I even have an app on my phone for that! Tim convinced me that today's world is all about "visual", and since he's such a wiz at shooting, editing, and producing video, it just made sense.

I believe this will be ever evolving, and am looking forward to folks giving us input on subject matter for future videos!

Love the video, website looks good. "Liked" the FB page, however the link to the FB Group says "content not available". Wondering if the group just isn't up yet or I have a bad link.
Good luck with this new endeavor. Looks very promising!

Edit to add: Love the shop pups. Always had one in my own retail shop & you're right, dogs just make everything better.
