1st Damascuc knife
Well I finally built my 1st knife from the damascus I made. Please critique for me.

Jim,
That came out great! Personally I'd like to see a bit more depth at the rear of the handle, but you should be proud of that one! Thats a baking lacquer finish right? Now you know what I was talking about when I was saying that the baking lacquer works best on the finer, tighter patterns....I can see that one spot where it got washed out in the open area of the pattern near the top of the plunge cuts. Yes it did wash away in a couple spots but after you showed that baking laquer Ed, I just had to try it.
15n20/1080 nickle silver bolsters and pins desert ironwood |
