kitchen knife

had to take a break from a huge wholesale order im working on so took a day or two to finish this one up.
1095 H.C. steel, differentially heat treated and tempered back to a blue instead of the usual bronze,
over all length is 15 1/2 inches with the blade at 9 inches in length. at its widest part it is 1 3/4 inches wide. it is 3/16s thick at the spine and has a convex edge geometry.
handle material is Bubinga wood pinned with brass with the bolster being nickel silver also pinned in brass. also some copper spacers betwixt the bolster and scales for that added bling

Looks very good. I'm trying to interpret what your finish on the blade is and I can't quite figure it out. It looks too fine for a forge finish, it's not Damascus, so I'm thinking some kind of etch?

Ok, now I vaguely remember hearing about bleach etching before. I'm planning on doing a load of kitchen knives for Christmas presents this year and was thinking about using a mustard etch on them, but I like the looks of this much more. I think I can figure out what to do, but do you mind sharing the process to save me some fumbling?

It's blue-bleach-boil.

You need to dip the blade in boiling water to neutralize the corrosives. . .
