Scraps+Sweat=Bowie

Just so you guys won't think I'm always in HangingDog hiding out.
Randy got to see this one the other day so I thought I'd post it before he could make disparaging remarks.
Old Nicholson BD file, WI fittings from bars and frame of old jail house window, brass from old door hinge, discarded section of old chalky elk antler, leather from a thriftstore vest, ok, ok the nickle is new. Blade is 8" - 12 1/4 oal.

Resourceful and inspiring! Very much rustic charm and style to that Bowie.
Your sheath work is just flat-out incredible Carl. Kudos!

Thanks Chris, Scott, Bryan, Jim.....just what I do. Every junk pile has potential!
How's the snow Chris? What's your latest project?
Bryan, I make them to sell (can't afford to keep them and eat).
Jim, you can play with it in a couple of weeks if I still have it in hand.

Hi Carl,
I have two drop point hunters (avatar) ready for HT but am holding off.
... currently have ALL of my financial resources dedicated to my Jeep. She threw a rod at 225K and currently doing an engine swap. No vehicle = No income. Bad timing for that to happen. No garage and below zero every night with cold days. It is currently -26 and dropping as the sun is about to rise. We're having a pretty good snow year too, which is good for the ski area and tourism. Unfortunate thing for me is.... no garage. I have an engine hoist and I'm doing the engine removal outside. My new neighbor offered to let me do the install in his garage thankfully and I think I'll take him up on that.
Meanwhile... I browse here and continue to learn during my down-time!

Nothing like cold mechanic work to make you appreciate those hot summer days!
Know the misery of both timing and cold weather (that's one of the reasons I still live in GA).
