Untitled 4/2011

Here?s a new one I just finished up, along the same line as the last few,? turned handle, ferrule etc.

OAL- 10-1/2 inches.
Blade length- 6 inches.
Materials- 1095 steel, sterling silver and cocobolo.

Now thats artistic. How thick is the blade? and are you using a lathe for the handles?

The hole (slot) in the blade looks like a musical note.

I'd suggest naming this The Missing Note.

Thanks guys!

The blade was forged from 1/8 inch stock, but it's a bit thinner from the filing and sanding. Yes, I turned the handle on a lathe. The cool thing about that cocobolo is that most all the pours are filled with it's own natural rosins, so I was able to really polish it on the lathe without any sealers or any need to fill the pours.

I like the "missing note" idea, but think I'll leave it untitled so people can see whatever they see.

This is such a cool knife and I'm very pleased to have added it to my collection of Tai's knives. I just sent the photo below off to the editors of five different knife publications and I think it'll pop up in print somewhere in the next few months - U the man, Tai!
