Frontier camp knife and sheath

Buddy, beautiful picture of a great knife and sheath combination. I love the frontier styles. I have a meager collection of Walt Kneubuhler knives and sheaths to prove it.

Got to get use to this format and learn my way around this place. I guess it will get easier as I find all of the bells and whistles.

Hi Ed - It's Elk bone - 6 1/2 inches of it! OAL of the knife is 15 1/2 inches. Blade is sealed in the bone handle with pitch, wrapped tight with cord and sewn Elk hide around the shaft. That's a skinned out Rattlesnake head and Bison fur on the sheath. I'm glad you noticed this great piece of work by Dana Acker and Chuck Burrows. It's one of my favorites!
Cheers!
Buddy

Very good work here. When I first looked at it I was thinking jawbone, then I thought shin bone, so which bone is it?

This is a very nice sample and I can't wait for my stuff to turn out this good.
