Folder kit with handle issues
I purchased my first folder kit. The kit came with the handles already shaped and drilled. The major issue is the holes that were already drilled are not lining up with the holes in the knife and fitting up close to the metal bolster. If I try and lining up the holes in the handle with the holes in the knife there is a gap between the handle and the bolster.
I was thinking about adding a spacer. My question is when inserting the fiber spacer do I run the spacer under the handle then up the sides? Or cut a section for the bolster/handle area and glue it in. I hope that made sense. Hard to explain with no photos. |

If you're going to use a fiber spacer you'll have to cut a small piece and glue it in. If you try to run it under the scale and bend it up the spacer material just won't bend sharply enough, it will never fit.
If you want a little more of the folder building experience you might want to consider making a set of scales that will actually fit the frame ... |
