Thumbs up Bowie's Hammer-in

Just in case some of you haven't heard. There's going to be a hammer-in at Ron Claiborne's in Knoxville,TN. on oct. 14,15 and 16. If you've never been to one, here's a good one to start with! There's going to be demos given by some of the best, a cutting competition (so bring a sharp knife) there's an iron in the hat, which is always fun to get in. There's food and fun for everyone. The atmosphere is about as friendly as you could ask for, and no question shall be unanswered. yall come!!! DIRECTIONS: Go I-40 to Knoxville...exit #393 I-640 N. bypass... First exit Millertown Pike take a right... follow Millertown Pike about 7 or 8 miles to a 4-way stop. this should be Ellistown Rd. take a left about 500 ft. on the right is 2918 Ellistown Rd. Limited camping is available and if you don't want to have a good time, you need to be somewhere else!! Bring examples of your work or if you don't make knives yet, come and catch the fever!!!!

I've never been to a hammer in but I'm sort of having a mini hammer in right here right now. Bowie has been here for a week now installing my new forging press and teaching me to use it. Kelly Cupples and Sam Fogler were here also and we've been having a blast!! If you can make it to Bowie's hammer in you WILL have a great time!

Now, back to the forge.. it's very early here but Ron is already out there mashing hot steel....
