I changed up my forge a little.

Originally I built it with two burners, but I just couldn't get both burners to work the way I wanted them to, so I cut them off an just put one in the center of the forge.

For the flare I used a tig torch tip, they are flared and made of a ceramic materal, here's the pics of the forge with one burner and the added tig tip.

Looks like it could work. You know, of course, that in actual use you want to avoid having the burner pointed directly at the blade material...

I've got a piece of 2" stainless pipe that I'm going to use in the forge, I will place the blade in the stainless pipe when I heat treat them.

THink I'd pull the torch back and add another layer or two of insulation to reduce the interior volume. Torch won't have to work so hard and forge interior will heat up more evenly. More conducive to forging and HTng. The interior of your forge should look more like this.

I haven't added any insulation yet, it was just a trial run I've got kaowool, satanite, ITC-100 and firebricks on the way, I plan on getting that done this weekend.

Explains a lot, pics are hard to see. The insulation will change the dynamics a bit. Torch/ceramic flare looks pretty good so far. Can you dial back the fuel and air much an still keep the flame coned? That will be important for HTng.

I can turn it way down and still have a cone flame, I was running it at about 8 lbs, I'll pull the burner back some when I line the forge and pack some satanite around the flare, I'm going to use 2 layers of 1" kaowool coat in satanite and then use the ITC-100, I'll post pics when I get that done.

WOW at 8 Psi you will burn a ton of Gas it should be insulated very good and then you should be able to set the Psi at around 3 to 5 psi and work anything you want .

PSI is a pressure rating not a fuel consumption measurement. It will totally depend on the torch design and ability to control the fuel feed rate as to the amount of fuel consumed.
I run my traveling/demo forge at 10-12psi and get two full day burns from a 22 pound bottle of Lp.
Lots of variables to consider.
